If you are searching a budget hotels near Howrah or Sealdah railway station then I shall give you some information, definitely that will help you.
If you are coming from outside of West Bengal and you have to go an another places from Howrah or Sealdah then you have to arrange a hotel near Howrah or Sealdah station due to this break journey.
If your budget is within 1000/- then can't find a hotels near Howrah or Sealdah railway station. If you book a hotel through online booking site, like Goibibo, Make my trip, Booking.com, Trivago etc, then you may get some less price but you will not get as much as I say. During travel you have so many luggage. It will be very hectic for you if your hotel is little bit away from station.
So best option is "Retiring Room". It is within the station. No need to go outside. It's much better and clean than the budget hotels. Details are given below for both the station:-

b) Double bedded AC with attached bathroom (2 rooms). Rent for 24 hours is 650/- and for 12 hours is 400/-.
Dormitory rooms are not available there.
