kolkata to howrah by train

No direct trains are available from Kolkata to Howrah. Both are separate terminals. There are five terminals in Kolkata city. 

• Howrah (HWH).
• Sealdah (SDAH).
• Shalimar (SHM).
• Kolkata Chitpur (KOAA).
• Santragachi (SRC).

From these railway terminals, you will get both express and local train for different destinations. Howrah, Shalimar and Santragachi are situated in the west part and remaining two (Kolkata Chitpur and Sealdah) are situated in the east part of the city.

Kolkata to Howrah by train: -

Take local train from Kolkata station (KOAA) to Barra Bazar (BZB). Ticket fare will be 5/- and you will reach at Barra Bazar within 15 mins. There are 3 stoppage in between Kolkata and Barra Bazar. The stations are Tala, Bagbazar and Sovabazar Ahiritola.
After that you may take bus for Howrah. Huge number of buses you will get for Howrah and within 10 mins you will reach at Howrah.
You may walk through the Howrah bridge. It's a 15 minutes walkway.

Kolkata to Howrah by metro: -

Still now, no direct metro is available in this route, though it is under processing but the metro service in Kolkata is awesome.

'Belgachia' the nearby metro station of Kolkata (KOAA) and take a ticket up to 'Mahatma Gandhi Road' metro station. Take a bus from 'Central Avenue' for Howrah.

My preference: -

Take a metro is not a good option in between the two are described above because you have to walk nearly 500 meters from Kolkata station to reach Belgachia metro station and it will be hectic. Again you have to walk from Mahatma Gandhi Road metro station to reach Central Avenue.

But If you take a local train from Kolkata station then it will be less hectic.

In both cases, the same time will take to reach Howrah. So choose according to your criteria.

Rampurhat to Tarapith

Tarapith road is the most nearby railway station from Tarapith temple. It is around 5 km away but the connectivity is very poor from this station because this is a halt station. If you are coming through local train then you may go Tarapith temple from Tarapith railway station, otherwise you have to go Rampurhat Jn.

Rampurhat is 10 km away from Tarapith temple. If you are coming by train from far away of Tarapith then take the reservation up to Rampurhat. After that how will you reach the Taramaa temple from Rampurhat station, I'll describe below.

BUS: -

You can take it from bus stand but it is nearly 2 km away from Rampurhat railway station. That's way it is not a significant way because you may have some luggage and the city bus is also not there. So, you have to take a long route bus via Tarapith. That's why, don't choose the bus to reach Tarapith.

Cabs: -

Online cabs are not available there. So, if you prefer to reach Taramaa temple by a cab, then you may get it from outside of the Rampurhat railway station. You have to bargain for this. Please keep in mind the distance from Rampurhat to Tarapith before finalize the cab rent.

This is also not a very significant plan.

Auto rickshaw: -

It is the best option to reach there because the frequency of getting a sharing auto from station is more and the rent will be 20/- each.
You may take E-rickshaw (known as 'toto') also but it will take some extra time compare to auto rickshaw.
I took the E-rickshaw from Rampurhat railway station for Tarapith and the rent was 100/- for two person.
This is the significant way to reach there.

Where should take the hotel ?

Don't take hotel at Tarapith for staying. Take hotel at Rampurhat, only because of the rent. it will lesser. You are also planning to visit some nearby places of Tarapith, that will benefits if you are staying at Rampurhat because more options are there to visit those places.

You may take retiring room at Rampurhat station. This is only possible if you have a confirm railway reservation ticket. Maximum 48 hours you can able to take a room for single PNR number and the charge will be very less compare to any other hotels. AC, non AC, Dormitory rooms are available.

mahapith tarapith

Huge information you will get from Wikipedia regarding the history of tarapith but I am giving you the information regarding the temple gate opening time, closing time for visitors, main worship timing, best time to visit etc.

Puja procedure: -

The main gate of the temple is nearly 500 meters away from auto stand and will be open at 6.00 AM to 12.00 PM and 1.00 PM to 11.00 PM for adorer. In between 12.00 PM to 1.00 PM, they do not allow to enter any adore because this is the time of offering "vog" to Tara Maa.

There are so many shops are available on the road side for arranging your puja dish. You may take your puja dish according to your budget. Lots of brokers are available there. When you will take the temple's road from the main road, they catch you and they will ask you to take a dish of worship from their shop. They will tell that you may put your shoes in their stalls.
On the right side of the temple's main door, there is a stall to put your shoes. Token system is available here.

There are three types of line inside the temple to reach in front of 'Tara maa'.

• VIP line: - The care taker will give you the permission to enter the main temple through the exist gate but they will claim 500/- per head for this type of entry. If you have shortage of time then you may choose this options but please bargain with them.

• Paid line: - The priests will claim 200/- per person for the worship in this line. The number of adorers are more compare to VIP line. If you are planning to go tarapith for worshiping on Tuesday or Saturday, then the line will be huge and tentatively your turn will come after two to three hours or may be more.

• Free Line: - No need to pay for worshiping. Take puja dish from any stall. They will provide a priest. He will show you the free line where you have to wait. Then he will give his phone number and say that need to call after reaching a certain distance. In this line, you can't imagine when your turn will come.

After the worshiping, you may take lunch in a hotel, located on the right side of that road. Do not buy any sweet from the stall because they do not maintain the quality.

My experience: -

After reaching tarapith, three brokers are insisting me for taking the puja dish from their shops but I ignore them. Before entering the main gate of the temple, we keep our shoes in that stall which I have already given the description above. We take the puja dish from a stall which is located inside the temple. They provided us a priest.
I never went Tarapith on Saturday before. So we did this plan on Saturday to see the crowd. Then I saw a huge crowd gathered inside the temple. So I talked with my priest for the VIP entry. He claim 500/- each for VIP entry. After bargaining, he agreed to take 300 rupees per person. But I very much satisfied after giving puja.
After taking lunch, we left Tarapith for home.

kolkata to bolpur bus

Bolpur is nearly 150 km north of Kolkata and is best known for its vicinity to Visva Bharati, the University set up by the Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore. Bolpur is famous for cultural festival.

Today I am discussing how you will reach bolpur (Shantiniketan) from Kolkata and what the options are.

Train: -

Train is the best option to reach Bolpur from Kolkata and 3 hours will take to reach from Howrah. Also, you can get train from Sealdah (SDAH) and Kolkata (KOAA). But the number of trains is more from Howrah.

If you are not getting reservation then take local train from Howrah to Burdwan and take another local for Bolpur. On an average four hours will take to reach.

Bus: -

Direct bus is not available from Kolkata but if you are still looking for a bus then I will share some information regarding the break journey. You may take tickets from red bus official site.

1. If you are from salt lake then, take an SBSTC for Burdwan and take a train for Bolpur. Minimum three and half hours will take. You may take a private public transportation bus but it will take excessive time.

2. Take an SBSTC from Dharmatala Bus Stand for Burdwan and take a train.

3. Take a Volvo bus from salt lake up to Panagarh. Within two hours you will reach Panagarh from salt lake. It is very fast. After reaching Panagarh, take a private public transportation bus for Bolpur. It will go through Illambazar.

4. From Dharmatala, take SBSTC for Natunhat and take a public bus for Bolpur.

5. Take SBSTC from Dharmatala for Suri and take ticket up to Illambazar. It will come after Panagarh. From Illambazar, you will get public bus for Bolpur. 30 to 45 min will take.

Best Option: -

Take a bus is not a significant plan. You can’t reduce the travel time and the bus ticket fare will be more comparing to train. So better take a train.

romantic place in surat

Surat is located on the banks of the Arabian Sea. Mumbai also situated on shore of the same Sea but the weather, I don't like when it comes to a comparison with Surat.

In Surat, the humidity always lays between 30% - 60% and after the sun setting, gentle wind blows. So, the temperature will go down after 7 PM.

That's why evening is the best time to give some time to your better half or lover. Most of the suratian, don't want to spend time in the evening at home. Most probably 60% - 70% suratian will go to park or garden in the evening. They will carry their dinner from home and will take there.

There are many romantic places except garden, park. These are,

1. Suvali and Dummas beach: -

This is one of the most romantic place in Surat. Sunset is the most choice-able time for everyone. Take one boiled corn and share with your partner. The time will spend like sea waves. After returning home, you realize, how valuable the time was.

2. Malls: -

Lots of malls (VR, Central, Rahul Raj, ISKON, Big Bazar, Relience, Star Bazar etc) and multiplex are available in Surat. Take a romantic movie tickets and happily spend more than 2 hours.

3. Tapi River Front: -

I think, it is the best romantic place Surat. Athwa gate river front brings a different level. The numbers of unmarried couples, immature couples are more compare to other category.

4. Gopi Talav: -

Cold air and light background music will make you romantic. Boating service is there. So many food stall is there, if you feeling little bit hungry, take some snacks. 

5. Botanical Garden: -

It is located in the Jahangirbad area. Toy train (Tapi express), Gas balloon are there. These are amazing for lovers point of view.
